MTME April set contest entry

This was my first time using this MTME template....and I love it! I can't decide which I like the best between this and the "In a Pinch"...lol. Love them both. I haven't found a template that I didn't like.

I wanted to make a gift box for a friend of mine that just found out she was promoted to the next Air Force rank. When I saw Lauren's contest to use one of her templates, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try another template out. I used my Husquvarna sewing/embroidery machine to put the number in the top of the stripes. The number is her line number that says when she will be promoted and get the pay raise. The AF promotes by groups of numbers each month split up over a year time frame. I stamped those same numbers on the front of the mail box. The "US Air Force" stamps were embossed, but you can't tell in the pictures. I found a company that sold trial sets on ebay and I ran across this AF stamp set and had to have it... I was able to fit the stripes in the mailbox and will give it to her tomorrow with the small card I made with the cricut cartridge "accent essentials".

Supplies: MTME "You've got Mail" template; Skipping Stones "Air Force" clear stamps; CTMH numbers; PTI "Signature greetings" and "Star Prints" clear stamps; Brads; and CTMH ink; clear embossing powder; Cricut "Accent Essentials" cartridge to make the card.

2nd template project for the week...the evenings have been packed with paper crafting until midnight to complete all these projects. It was nice to sleep in this weekend.

I ended up making 7 of these boxes for a coworker. I used Lauren's sample as inspiration to start the box and continued form there with my own themed box. These were very simple to make and hopefully the girls basketball team will enjoy them.

The "In a Pinch" box is on my list as my most favorite box to make until I made the "You've got Mail" box. It is hard to decide which one I like the most; they are both great boxes. I made the basket ball boxes (In a Pinch and Under Cover) for someone at work. They asked me to make 7 small boxes and 5 larger boxes for an end of season basketball banquet. She gave the small ones to all the players filled with candy and the larger ones to the parents that were on the board. I enjoyed making them. At first I didn't think I had any sports stamps until I looked...and I happened to have some. It worked out nicely and she loved the finished products.

Supplies used: MTME templates "In a Pinch" and "Under Cover"; CTMH sports ball stamps and sentiment stamps; EK success 3" scallop punch, 1 3/4" round punch; twine; eyelet, paper from Michael's Craft Store.
